APPLIED SCIENCE (TRIPLE)

About this Course

Featuring both Forensic and Medical Pathways, this course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to succeed in employment within science-based industries. Students will develop a range of analytical and scientific skills as well as practical techniques of enquiry to enable them to make an immediate impact in the workplace.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and Science (Students with a grade D in English will be accepted, but must study a GCSE in English alongside this programme.)

ART AND DESIGN (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This exciting, varied and practical course is aimed at those who want a career in art, art teaching, theatre set design, graphic design, illustration, animation, architecture, interior design, fine art or sculpture. Covering a wide range of art and design disciplines, students will learn how to approach the creative process to work through design briefs, while developing the skills and portfolio needed to achieve their professional goals.

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English and one of the following: Art, Design, Graphics or Photography OR a relevant Level 2 at merit plus GCSE English at grade C. (Students with a grade D in Maths will be accepted, but must study a GCSE in Maths alongside this programme.)

BUSINESS (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This practical course provides both a broad foundation of business education and a firm basis for specialism in a selected avenue. There is an emphasis on developing employability and entrepreneurial skills, with ICT heavily embedded in the course to develop students' knowledge of MS Office and other business software.

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English or Maths OR a First Diploma at Merit OR the relevant Level 2 qualification plus GCSE English or Maths. (Students with a grade D in English or Maths will be accepted, but must study this GCSE alongside this programme.)

CPLD IN EARLY YEARS TEACHING (NATIONAL DIPLOMA) (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This Children's Play, Learning and Development (CPLD) programme features a variety of core and specialist modules, including Child Development, Supporting Children?s Language and Literacy, Safeguarding, and Reflective Practice, which provide the relevant occupational competence required to be early years educators or to become an early years teacher. This programme has a requirement of 750 hours in placement to develop practice in the sector.

COMPUTING (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This forward-thinking course reflects the wide-ranging talents of individual students by offering three distinct study pathways: Hardware and System Security; Software and Game Development; and Interactive Media Design and Development. All students will develop fundamental skills in areas such as systems, networking and web design before going on to specialise in their chosen area. There is also an emphasis on the development of employability skills.

ENGINEERING (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This course provides an opportunity to specialise in one of three distinct branches of engineering: Aeronautical; Electrical and Electronic; and Manufacturing. Developed with industry to align content to both student and employer requirements, students will develop subject specific knowledge alongside practical and problem-solving skills, with support for Maths and English where appropriate.

HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE (NURSING) (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This industry-focused programme features a variety of core and specialist modules, including Anatomy and Physiology, Physiology of Fluid Balance, Communication, Counselling, and Equality and Diversity, to provide the knowledge and skills needed to progress to a nursing career. Time spent in the classroom will be supplemented by a 1-2 day work placement to help with students' professional development.

HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE (SOCIAL WORK) (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This industry-focused programme features both core and specialist modules, including Sociological Perspectives and Psychological Perspectives, Communication, Counselling and Equality and Diversity, to provide the knowledge and skills needed for students to progress to a career in social work. Time spent in the classroom will be supplemented by a 1-2 day work placement to help with students' professional development.

PERFORMING ARTS (TRIPLE)

About this Course

Designed to produce fully rounded and confident performers, this comprehensive course encourages individual creativity across a wide range of performance genres. Students will learn the fundamental techniques of acting, singing and dance through a series of assignments which start with scene and character studies and eventually lead to full-scale productions in a dedicated theatre and external venues such as the Grand Theatre and the Tower Ballroom.

SPORT (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This practical course equips you with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in coaching, sports development and fitness. Discover how to analyse health and fitness, design exercise programmes, analyse human movement, treat and prevent sports injuries and organise sports events. You will also develop your knowledge of individual and team sports.

UNIFORMED PUBLIC SERVICES (TRIPLE)

About this Course

This exciting and active course provides the requisite skills and knowledge for a rewarding career with the Police, Fire Service, Armed Forces, Paramedics or Prison Service. Through realistic workplace scenarios students will develop vital leadership and social skills while volunteering opportunities via our excellent employer links will dramatically enhance career prospects. There is an emphasis on improving physical fitness through a range of timetabled and enrichment activities.
